Reconstitution calculator
Tell us how many milligrams are in the vial, how much bacteriostatic water you add and how much you want to draw: we give you the resulting concentration and how far that aliquot reaches on the syringe scale.
To draw 0.50 mg
fill the syringe to
15.0 units
- Vial concentration
- 3.33 mg/ml
- Aliquot volume
- 0.150 ml
- Aliquots per vial
- 20
The result is arithmetic, not a usage recommendation. Royalpeptiva products are intended exclusively for in vitro scientific research and are not suitable for human or veterinary consumption.
How it is worked out
- The concentration is the milligrams in the vial divided by the millilitres of water you add. A 10 mg vial with 3 ml of water ends up at 3.33 mg/ml.
- The aliquot volume is the milligrams you want to draw divided by that concentration. 0.5 mg at 3.33 mg/ml is 0.15 ml.
- The syringe units are that volume times one hundred, because a U-100 syringe is marked 100 units per millilitre. 0.15 ml is 15 units.
The water you add does not change how much peptide is in the vial, only how much liquid it is spread through: with twice the water, the same aliquot takes up twice the volume in the syringe. That is why it pays to pick a volume that leaves the mark somewhere comfortable to read.
